Teflex
for metal is meant for protection against corrosion
and internal sanitization of surfaces of pipes
(pipelines).
Type: water disinfectant for
pipes and metal surfaces with cleaning and anti-corrosive
effect (concentrate)
Purpose: For killing microbes and reducing rust
on internal surfaces of pipes, including drinking
water supplies. For protection against all deposits
and scaling within hot and cold water supply
systems, such as heating.
Application on surfaces for
other purposes should be coordinated with the
manufacturer.
Properties: Strong adhesion. Not affected by
weather conditions. Can be used as an anti-corrosive
primer for iron and steel.
Structure: Modified complex
of Guanidine, non-ionic surfactants, anticorrosive
additives, solvent=water.
Appearance – colour= a homogenous, transparent
liquid, may contain deposits.
pH 6-7
Density = about 1.1 g/cm3
Packing: 0.33l , 1l, 3l, 5l, 10l
Colour = transparent/yellowish
Safety
precautions: Keep away from children. Do not
inhale. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. More
detailed information can be found on the MSDS
sheet.
Storage: The bottle should be kept airtight.
Period of storage = no more than 3 years.
Waste disposal: Dispose of as normal household
waste. Do not pour down drain or into natural
water courses.
Application Guidelines
Substrates: iron/steel. The substrate should
be clean.
Preparation of substrate: remove all visible
rust using metal brush or pressure hose
Internal surface of pipes: fill with a water
solution Teflex 1:19 Water and allow to stand
for 24 hours at a temperature of 50-60 degrees
Celsius. On closed systems (eg central heating),
it is permissible to pump the solution round
for 5-6 hours. The discharged solution may be
re-used as required-by filtering and then adding
10% concentrate. After this process, dry the
pipes in air at about 60-80 degrees Celsius.
Processing: Teflex for metal can be applied
by brush or by spraying (working solution ratio
1:19). Leave on surface for 24 hours, then rinse
off with water.
Quantities: 80-110ml per m2.
Minimum quantity for optimal protection is 250ml
per m2
Processing Temperature: Should be between 15-60
degrees. Drying 20 degrees Celcius. Partial
drying occurs at 45 minutes for the first layer.
2nd layer approximately after three hours. Full
polymerisation after 5 hours.
